Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity's (DEO) Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program was launched with $85,819,653 to fund infrastructure restoration and improvement projects in communities impacted by Hurricane Irma. The funding is provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program to address unmet disaster recovery needs related to damage from Hurricane Irma. On March 28, 2020, an additional $100 million in funding was made available to local governments through a second application cycle.
The County, in coordination with the Central County Water District, proposes to seek funding  for the repair and upgrade of several pumping stations operated by the District and damaged during Hurricane Irma. The County’s proposed projects will document direct storm damage and expend funds that principally benefit low-to-moderate income areas of the county.

As a part of the requirements to receive the disaster recovery funds, the County must provide for public review and comment of the proposed projects. The County is giving residents an opportunity to voice opinions on the proposed project through this public comment process.

Any person wishing to make written comments regarding the application should submit them by June 26, 2020 to: or mail your comments to:
